The Cavalcata di Sant’Oronzo (Sant’Oronzo ride) is the most anticipated and important festival of the town of Ostuni. From August 25th to the 27th, a procession, a parade, music in the square and fireworks celebrate the patron saint. On the 26th, a procession of horses and riders start the parade through the streets of the town and escort the papier mache statue of Sant 'Oronzo. In 2012 the celebrations ended with an opera in the piazza.
