The Jurassic Coast
The UNESCO world heritage site Jurassic coast runs from Exmouth in the west to Studland in the east. The coastal rocks reveal the history of the Earth over a 185 million years across theTriassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. It is therefore an excellent location to hunt for fossils and with a little local knowledge visitors can learn what types of fossils are repreented in which areas and make their own discoveries. The inland countryside of East Devon and Dorset are also very beautiful and interesting.
