There is no through traffic so the village and beach are safe for children to play and bathe. The Ship Inn has regular music events, an excellent restaurant with fresh fish from the bay and a microbrewery. A haven for wildlife especially birds. Go to the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh for fantastic sea food. Or the Packhorse at Ellingham for great pub food and atmosphere. The famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens are nearby.
