Description
Inglewood Cottage, located within New Milton, a bustling small town within the New Forest District, is just over a mile away from the stunning beaches and seaside clifftop walks overlooking the Needles of the Ilse of Wight at Barton on Sea.
The property offers plenty of space for short breaks or holidays for all; extended families – mums and dads, kids & grandparents; groups of friends, or couples. The internal layout of the cottage ideally lends itself to extended families and groups as the provision of a ground floor bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and two generously sized upstairs bedrooms with bathroom allow for separate spaces. The design of the roomy and airy comfortable lounge and kitchen with dining area affords excellent space for the visitors to entertain and relax.
Externally, the rear garden is fully enclosed and gated, with two patio areas and a lawned area with pretty pergola tumbling with honeysuckle; a perfect location for relaxing on a hot summer day with a selection of garden furniture available.
To make a home from home for our families our child and baby friendly equipment and toys include buckets & spades, crabbing & fishing nets, Paddling pool, Cutlery, plates & bowls, Cot, Highchair, stairgates, Bottle warmer, DVDs, colouring pencils & books.
Accommodation
The cottage offers spacious modern accommodation. The kitchen and dining area are open plan giving a roomy feel to the property, and the lounge offers an inviting and relaxing atmosphere with both 2 and 3 seat sofas alongside 2 easy chairs and a footstool. The two larger bedrooms are spacious providing room for kingsize beds, together with space for a cot in either bedroom, and the twin bedroom is tucked nicely into the eaves.
Kitchen and Dining
The open plan fully fitted kitchen includes a range cooker with gas hob and electric double oven and separate grill, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster. A Tassimo Coffee machine with pods included adds an element of elegance to your morning coffee. An Alexa Dot is provided for radio, quizzes etc.
The kitchen breakfast bar has high level seating for 3 people with a Freeview TV and the adjacent dining area with an extended 6 seat wooden table gives ample space for dinner parties! Flowers give an added touch of elegance to the room.
The separate Utility Area leads directly from the kitchen with the external door from here opening to the rear garden lower patio area.
All crockery and cutlery are provided including rangemaster saucepans, frying pan, wok, a great assortment of ovenware and lots of wine glasses for a relaxing drink. A highchair is also provided.
Living Room
The cottage has a large and airy living room due to double aspect windows and patio doors which open onto the patio terrace.
Technology includes a large digital TV with unlimited Virgin Wifi, Sandstrom Bluetooth Speaker and DVD player.
Seating for 7 people provided by the two sofas and two comfortable chairs and a footstool. Two children’s wicker chairs are also in the lounge.
A large assortment of games and toys for all ages together with a large selection of novels and childrens books are in the lounge dresser and hall cupboard. A selection of DVDs are also provided for adults and children.
The house has underfloor heating throughout giving an exceptionally cosy feel but there is also a electric fire available provides additional warmth on cooler spring and autumn evenings.
Hallway
There is a separate downstairs cloakroom. A storage cupboard in the hallway houses the ironing board, highchair and ironing board.
Bedrooms
The cottage has three bedrooms, all of which have Smart Tvs and of which the master bedroom is located on the Ground Floor. This has a King Size bed with luxury bedding; there is plenty of storage space with triple wardrobe and dressing table. An ensuite bathroom with large bath and separate power shower serves this bedroom.
There are two first floor bedrooms up in the eaves of the cottage; one with a King Size bed and luxury bedding, fitted wardrobes, and chest of drawers and dressing table, and the other with Twin Single beds and fitted wardrobe and drawers and dressing table.
Bathrooms
The ground floor has a cloakroom off the hallway. An ensuite bathroom serves the downstairs bedroom with bath, shower, toilet and full size sink.. The first floor has a bathroom which has a large bath and separate power shower.
External Spaces
The rear garden is laid to lawn with two patio areas – one raised and one directly outside the kitchen.
Garden furniture sets to seat 6 and 4 people with umbrellas for shade.
A BBQ is available for use on those balmy evenings when eating al fresco. Charcoal, lighting blocks, tongs and matches will be supplied in the garage. Foldaway Deck chairs also available for beach use.
Buckets and spades, crab lines and fishing nets are available in the garage.
A tumble dryer is located in the garage.
Parking for up to two cars at the front of the property depending on size and additional on the road parking.
Car park pass for New Forest town and seaside car parks supplied for two cars for free parking.
Garage for one car or roof box storage, mobility scooter or bicycles.
Additional Information
A travel cot and stair gates can be provided upon request. All the bedrooms have ample storage space with additional upstairs hall storage for cases and travel bags.
Other cooking basics are provided: oil, vinegar, sugar, herbs, ketchup and mayonnaise.
Dishwasher Tablets and Washing up Liquid will be provided.
Childrens cutlery, plates, bowls and plastic cups provided.
Gas/Electric included. Linen provided. Tea Towels provided. Towels included.
Heating is provided by underfloor heating – lovely and warm for the feet!
If you wish to arrange a supermarket delivery, we can accept delivery and put away for you during the hours before your arrival – please contact us for further details.
We also have a fully Qualified NNEB Babysitter available who works at a local children’s nursery and is a close family friend. Rates and further information is available on request from the owner. Booking in advance is advisable.
For a two week or longer stay – a cleaning service and change of bed linen is provided on a Friday fully included in the cost of your stay.

Location description
Close to South Coast beaches of England and the New Forest. Town Centre situation in a quiet road.
Tourist attractions
New Milton, a busy and bustling town, is situated on the edge of The New Forest, a national park designated as an area of outstanding beauty with open countryside freely inhabited by ponies, cattle and donkeys. Within the park are the picturesque and charming towns of Lyndhurst, Lymington, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu and Burley providing shops, eateries and public houses.
There are numerous attractions in the forest that offer all types of activities for families, couples and groups. As well as the outstanding natural beauty and wildlife, there is so much more to see and do eg. horse riding, cycle hire and water sport activities are all readily available.
For the more adventurous, the adventure parks are always an exciting option, including Paultons Family Theme Park with Peppa Pig World, Moors Valley Country Park including an exhilarating high level tree walk, and Beaulieu Motor Museum which has go-karts for those who are wanting a faster pace.
Bournemouth town centre, a 40 minute picturesque drive, is a lively holiday destination with excellent beaches, shops and entertainment venues.
Barton on Sea beach, 5* rated, is the nearest of many local peaceful beaches, a 40 minute walk or a few minutes by car. Affording magnificent views of the Needles on the Isle of Wight, there are wonderful cliff top and beach walks, a golf course, and the popular Beachcomber Cafe with garden providing breakfasts, lunches and snacks and an ice cream parlour. The 5* rated Pebble Beach fish restaurant is also located on the clifftop, with open air dining and cosy meals for the cooler months.
Lymington, just a few miles along the coast road, is a quaint Georgian market town with a great selection of boutiques and shops, has a wonderful quay with a pub and terrace for those lazy days watching the boats go by.
Nearby Christchurch, a medieval town steeped in history, provides a quiet interlude with walks along the River Avon, a Priory Church and Castle Ruins. Modern coffee houses are interspersed with old-fashioned gift shops and a bandstand provides musical entertainment on hot sunny days. Feed the swans and wander along the banks of the Avon at your leisure!
Go crabbing on Mudeford Quay – loads of crabs to catch – lines and buckets provided at the cottage!
Keyhaven Nature reserve – walk across the salt marshes and view the varied wildlife.
Visit Lyndhurst – Alice Liddell “Alice in Wonderland”s home town, has many shops and a museum in which to while away a few hours.
Directions
From M27 - Take Junction 1 Signposted Lyndhurst. Follow A337 to Lyndhurst. Then follow A35 to Christchurch for approximately 7 miles. Take turning left onto B3058 (Holmsley Road) signposted New Milton, to Bashley. Keep on the same road, straight across a roundabout and keep going into New Milton town centre. At crossroads with traffic lights turn left into Ashley Road. Go straight over next set of traffic lights. Take the 2nd right into Copse Road. At T junction turn left into Copse Avenue. Follow road round into Fir Avenue. Take next left into Inglewood Drive. The property is the first house on the left.
