Description
Marine Villa is the original wing of a grand Georgian Grade II Listed seaside villa and sits on the Quay overlooking the historic harbour village of Charlestown. It is decorated to the exquisitely high standards you would expect from both of us.
Marine Villa has a pair of magnificent sea view bedrooms, both with super king beds and luxurious ensuite bathrooms.
The master bedroom also has a small interconnecting study that can be made up as a childs room with a cot or a single or a bunk bed.
Marine Villa can sleep up to 6 in seaside elegance.
Built in the late 1700s, the tiny harbour village of Charlestown is largely unchanged and has been granted UNESCO World Heritage Status.
The beaches, either side of the Quay, are so close a toddler can make it. Stroll over the Quays lock gate to the Hotel for a crab sarnie on their terrace or stay at home in your lovingly planted, south facing Courtyard Garden.
Charlestown is approximately 10 minutes from both the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. It is also ideally situated for visiting Fowey, the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, the Tate at St Ives, and Padstow, with Rick Steins restaurants. The Airport at Newquay and Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen are a short drive, and it is 10 minutes to the train station (mainline from Paddington).
Every room has a stunning view.
The bedrooms have style, comfort and attention to detail.
There are hair dryers, clocks, blankets and sewing kits in each bedroom.
This house sees us bring together our eye for detail and design. It houses some of David's favourite finds (I joke that the house itself is the largest part of his collection!).
The kitchen has all the modern appliances you would expect, washing machine/tumble dryer, gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, WiFi and landline phone and hopefully everything else you might need...
The dining room has a huge solid oak table, perfect for late lazy breakfasts or an even later candle lit supper. If the tall ships are in, you might even spot someone swinging from the Crows Nest!
In the sitting room there are two fabulous sofas, a fire place for real fires, a smart TV with a DVD, and there is a digital radio/CD. The house is sheltered from the bustle of the harbour by its large sculptural hedges.
The bathrooms are near perfection with baths and powerful showers,
or after a long hard day at the beach, may be a hot outside shower?
There are all sorts of things you might like to use if you are bringing preschool kids to Marine Villa such as a buggy, socket covers, anti door slammers, a baby monitor, a steriliser, a changing mat, stair gates, a high chair, a play mat, a travel cot with sheets and waterproof mattress protectors, plates and bowls, tumblers, knives, forks and spoons, a potty, a baby bath, a hand held food whizzer and a few toys
We do not allow animals, nor smoking. Parking is easy and free.
If you would like to bring friends, parents or parents in law, but want to give them (and you ! ) a bit of space, the Studio is available for short stays all year round and is next door to Marine Villa.
Do let us know if you'd like some Great Grub when you arrive, during your holiday or the night you leave, and maybe a Brilliant Breakfast Box for your first morning?
If you'd like our wonderful therapist to visit for some
Spa at Home just send us an email...
